The new Vamoose Bus departure location in Bethesda will be located at 7401 Waverly Street, adjacent to the entrance of the Waverly Street Garage (across our existing bus stop).

The Big Green Bus

The Motorcoach is considered the greenest form of transportation when measured in terms of passenger miles per gallon of fuel.

Now a group of creative students decided to turn up the notch by retrofitting a standard coach to run on waste vegetable oil and solar panels, as well as many other green amenities. Hence, The Big Green Bus.

Save on Gas this Summer: Take the Bus!

The New York Times compiled a list of 13 ways to save on gasoline this summer and “taking the bus” was one of the suggestions:
TAKE THE BUS Cheap express buses with names like BoltBus, Megabus and Vamoose have become popular along the Northeast Corridor and elsewhere, with amenities like free Wi-Fi and power and seats for $30 or less, depending on when you reserve — which can be less than what you might pay in gas if you drive yourself.

Vamoose Bus Donates Tickets to Families and Friends of NIH Patients.

Bethesda, MD, April 14, 2011 – Vamoose Bus, the popular, express bus service between New York City and Bethesda, MD, will be donating 4 round trip tickets daily to families and friends of patients presently staying at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center.

“The expense of frequent trips to visit patients can be a great financial burden on families,” said Sam Bluzenstein, President of Vamoose Bus. “Our company is pleased to provide this free service, to assist families in their time of need.”

The program will outreach to Children’s Inn at NIH, Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge, Friends of the Clinical Center, and Special Love, Inc.

Randy Schools, President of NIH Recreation and Welfare Assocation announced the commencement of this new service on April 8, 2011. Priority will be given on financial need.
